  • What Happens If I Can't Make A Lesson?
If for whatever reason you cannot attend one of the lessons we will do our best to facilitate you with a catch up lesson either on the week of your lesson or the week following. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee a time will always be available for a catch up lesson and a refund will not be issued.
  • When Should I Arrive For My Lesson?
We ask that you arrive no more than 5 mins before your lesson start time. We recommend that swimmers arrive ready to swim.
  • Can We Bring Food Or Drink Onto Poolside
Strictly no food on poolside! If swimmers would like to bring a drink they can do but it must be in a plastic bottle.
  • Do I Need To Go In The Water With My Child?
Parents/Guardians are not required to be in the water with their children during the lesson. The teachers will be in the water with all of the beginner swimmers. Once the swimmers progress and can swim unaided the teachers will teach from poolside.
  • What Do I Need To Bring Along To My Lesson?
All you need to bring along with you is appropriate swimwear, a towel and we do also recommend goggles.
  • How Do I Pay?
We work in terms of 6 weeks and payments are made through Go Cardless via direct debit. When you secure a place with us you will be given a link to setup a direct debit mandate. If joining mid way through a term, payment will be taken for the remaining lessons in that term.
  • How Often Are Your Lessons?
Lessons at Emmerson Swim School are taught weekly all year round stopping for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period. Once a place is secured the lesson will take place at the same time and day each week.
  • How Long Does Each Lesson Last?
All of our lesson last for 30 minutes.
  • Can My Child Eat Before Swimming?
We recommend not to eat anything 1 hour before going swimming as swimming involves a lot of movement so it can make them feel sick.
  • How Many Spectators Can I Bring?
We ask for only 1 spectator to come with the swimmer as we are limited to space on poolside. If you have other children that you need to bring with you they are welcome. Mini Swimmers - please don't bring any spectators.
  • How Old Before My Baby Can Join?
Babies can go into water from birth. However, they can’t regulate their temperature like adults, so it’s very important to make sure they don’t get too cold. It's generally best to wait until your baby is around 2 months old before you take them swimming. You don’t have to wait until your baby is immunised to take them swimming.
  • What Should My Baby Wear To Swim In?
If your baby/toddler isn't yet toilet trained they must wear a swim nappy and a neoprene over nappy - we recommend Happy Nappy. Then a swimming costume or neoprene warmer over the top. If your toddler is toilet trained they can just wear a swimming costume or trunks.
